Face of the day: getting
If you can’t tell by now, for about a million different reasons, I’m lacking in the all natural foundation department. On a whim, I decided to try my OCC Skin in Y2 with a Real Techniques stippling brush. Although it’s not organic, it does have pretty clean ingredients. It worked out great! It’s a very thin foundation as it’s meant to go through an airbrush, but the stippling brush did the trick. I am not going to go into all the reasons I haven’t splurged for something new, but I will say it’s very frustrating that there is nowhere I can go to try foundations out. It’s not easy selecting a foundation color online to match your skin in real life.
From left to right, here’s what I wore:
La Bella Figura Rainforest Hydration Treatment (sample c/o La Bella Figura); DeVita Solar Protective Moisturizer with SPF; Josie Maran Argan Beautiful Eyes in Purple, Korres Quercetin & Oak Concealer; OCC Skin in Y2; Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Blushing Bride; BWC Full Volume Mascara in Black; Pacifica Color Quench Moisture Lip Tint in Blood Orange.
First of all, I’m in love with La Bella Figura’s hydration treatment! I was sent some products to try out and I will be posting a review later this week. As you can see I kind of double moisturized yesterday, but the oil heat at home is so drying that it was just the right amount. Also, I have been gently exfoliating twice a week so moisturizing and wearing a higher SPF sunscreen is important.
Speaking of sunscreen, I’ve been using this one from DeVita for a while now and I can’t believe I haven’t talked about it yet. It’s an oil free moisturizer with hyularonic acid and it uses 19% zinc oxide (no nano of course) which is my preferred SPF ingredient. I’ve talked before about how much I love zinc products and I find my skin is healthier when I use them. I’d definitely recommend this product if you are looking for a good daily sunscreen to wear under makeup. It’s especially nice because it’s a SPF 30+ and very affordable. In my experience, higher SPF sunscreens that are safe and non-toxic and thin enough for daily use can be hard to find.
Lastly, I absolutely love the color of this Pacifica lip tint. However, at the beginning of the tube I kept getting a “mouth full of perfume” sensation and it really bothered me. Alas, I persevered and it seems to have gone away. If this bothers you I would recommend wiping off the top layer.
What do you think of the face of the day posts? Do you like seeing the skincare products I use as well as the makeup? Let me know in the comments!
