At the Beach: My All Natural All Star Beauty Products

I was lucky enough to spend this past week at the beach, and these are the all natural products that formed my all-star beauty squad! You’ll notice there’s no makeup here, that’s because I didn’t really wear any. I was too busy soaking up every ounce of sand and sun that I could. Freckles were my makeup this week!
Pangea Organics Egyptian Fennel Grapefruit & Sweet Orange Lip Balm
This is the best lip balm I have EVER used. It’s unbelievably nourishing and it smells divine. I always use a little of this during a facial or before starting a makeup application so that by the time you’re ready for lipstick, your lips are smooth and moist. This helped keep my lips moist after many hours in the sun and salty water.
You already know how much I love this stuff, so I won’t go into detail here, but this was indispensable after-sun care. I wore as much sunscreen as I could, but hey, I was at the beach! Sun happens! This helped soothe my skin and keep it balanced throughout the week.
Alba Botanica Natural Hawaiian Mango Shampoo
I picked this up at Target simply because I was there and out of my usual shampoo. One whiff of this in Target’s new hippie-aisle and there was no question I was buying it. I’m glad I did, it smells incredible and it didn’t dry my hair out on a week when I was forced to shampoo more often than usual. It’s not super-sudsy, especially if your hair is very dirty (sand, salt and seaweed, need I say more?), but I’m used to that because I gave up shampoos with harsh detergents long ago.
Badger All Season Face Stick SPF 35
This little face stick was such a pleasant surprise. My husband has rosacea and always gets burnt on his nose and cheeks, so he requested I pick up a visible sunscreen, something a la Zinka. (You remember the 80’s, don’t you?) Obviously, I chose the all natural version. I am happy to report that for the first time ever, there are no burnt noses in my house! I really like Badger’s sunscreens for their pure ingredients, and this one was easy to grab and apply for the extra protection in the areas that get extra sun. It’s zinc oxide so it goes on white, but hey, you’re at the beach, lighten up! I could see this being a great product for kids, it’s so convenient to carry around and it gives you peace of mind. You can see it so you KNOW you’re covered. It was a big hit this week.
