Makeup as Art. I’ve been thinking…
I first posted this photograph in January of 2012 on Instagram, but have been thinking about it again recently. You may have seen it pop up as my profile photo on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook. That’s because it says a lot about what I want to do, and who I want to become. At the time I was really passionate about this idea of transformation, but life has a habit of getting in the way and I haven’t been able to devote too much time to it in … well… six months! One of the things I love about makeup is its ability to transform. I’d love to transform more of my friends and family into their own heroes, the artists and thinkers who helped transform them. One of my heroes is Frida Kahlo.
This was my first attempt at becoming Frida, but I have some new tools now and am going to try again. Frida Kahlo is not only one of my all time favorite artists, she is also one of my all time favorite beauty and style icons. If ever there was a true INDIVIDUAL, it was her. Without giving too much away, just know that the wheels are turning and hopefully more will be coming soon!
